College Success Coaching - Boise

As residents in Boise, Idaho, by enrolling at Boise State University, the College of Western Idaho or other post-secondary opportunities. The Emerge year in Boise provides students with the academic and social tools to be successful in a larger campus environment by developing positive relationships with our staff and utilizing their support skills. Transitional support for Emerge students includes weekly individual mentoring and academic sessions, as well as vocational and volunteer or internship support. Students live in private dorms adjacent to Boise State and blocks from downtown, allowing for students to start the program at any time throughout the year, or in on campus housing for those entering Emerge at the beginning of a college term.

Global College Success Coaching

Through an intensive distance coaching option. Each client receives active and direct support through their transition to the college experience or other life affirming direction. Ongoing support remains very solution oriented with an emphasis on problem solving and advising, including direct coaching of the student, interaction with a peer mentor in the student’s locale, as well as ongoing parental communication. The distance coaching option is designed as a stand-alone program for students attending universities nationwide.

Throughout the Emerge process students engage in assessing their challenges and opportunities, setting and implementing goals, and transitioning to college and careers.

Following an initial consultation we work together to create a program that addresses the challenges and concerns of both parents and students.

An initial consultation and visit are typically scheduled on-site in the student's home or locale or in Boise, Idaho, for students pursuing the Boise Transitional Option. The on-site visit includes a full interview with the student and parents, a review of student records, psychological and educational testing, and assessment of current challenges. Through this educational consultation and process a road map to planning and educational support is created. A pattern and schedule of ongoing communication and interaction is set in place to insure future success.

Each client's challenges and needs are unique. Educational Consultant, Andrew Bryan, and the Emerge team have extensive experience problem solving and providing solutions for struggling students and families.

Emerge coaches coordinate with supporting professionals to help develop a comprehensive approach to positive change and success.

The College Success Program is designed to help students achieve success in their chosen college campus setting. Students cultivate a sense of capability, determination, advocacy, and a love of life-long learning. We work to support and guide students through a positive college experience with special attention to academic self-esteem and a personalized approach to learning. Coaching and academic mentoring begins with an emphasis on the transition to a new college environment and continues as a student works toward their college degree.
