#ExploreTheGapYear – in the Fall of 2021.

SEPTEMBER 16th – NOVEMBER 14th, 2021

Participants begin with a 10-day launch trek in Greece, as part of a cohort group (5-8 participants), followed by a month at our base in Volissos, Chios, focused on post trek themes like the Greenwood System 120 career assessment, personal development, leadership, outdoor adventure, including wilderness first aid training, environmental awareness, and workshop options tailored to their individual interests, including, but not limited to marine biology, art, geography, music, and creative writing.

In early November, the group transitions to walk a section of the “Via Francigena,” from north of Rome, Italy, finishing in Siena. Participants interact throughout their gap time with peer mentors who can relate to their experience, and receive coaching and guidance each step of the way with our professionals. Parents can also participate in their own calls to help be in touch with their student’s experience and transformation.

Students then remain in contact through the spring to continue coaching and advising on implementing the goals they have set for themselves, essentially receiving help to follow through with the commitments they have made to themselves.

The full gap year engagement cost is $9,500.00, this includes the initial launch trek, accommodations, program facilitation and activities, the capstone trek, support and guidance, gap life coaching throughout the sixty day program, and educational consulting and career planning. Airfare(s), personal spending, some meals, not included in fee. We recommend participants budget $25.00 a day, or up to $1,500.00 for personal spending during their gap time.  Scholarships available upon request based on need.
